Le 1000 De La Gauchetière is certified LEED® Gold

We are very proud to announce that Le 1000 De La Gauchetière has been certified LEED®  Gold by the Canada Green Building Council. This certification makes the building one of the most energy-efficient in Montreal.

The LEED® certification criteria include energy efficiency and air quality, water management and consumption, use of materials and reuse of surplus materials, quality of the interior environment and environmentally sensitive building exterior.

Le 1000 De La Gauchetière, which was built in 1992, is a distinctive address and an outstanding place of business. The 51-storey building is strategically located in the business district and has an ingenious interior design that offers inspiring natural light and column-free floor plates that facilitate the workspace layout.

For about 10 years, the management team at Le 1000 De La Gauchetière has carried out a modernization program in addition to establishing a stringent process for continual improvement of its operations.

The considerable modernization and improvement of the 153,300 m2 in Le 1000 De La Gauchetière leading to LEED® Gold certification included:

  • water metering;
  • refrigerant management for protection of the ozone layer;
  • a green purchasing policy;
  • air-quality performance;
  • control of environmental tobacco smoke; and
  • a policy for green cleaning and solid waste management.

Congratulations to the teams that made the certification possible!
